DIY Yoga Mat Spray Recipe

A couple of years ago, I started paying attention to the products I put in and on my body. All of the research I was doing about toxins in the household environment were astonishing--especially the research on toxins as hormone disrupters. As a person with hypothyroidism and Poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, I knew I needed to rid my household of as many toxins as I could to support my hormonal health!
I was also amazed to learn how toxic the cleaners were that I was using on my yoga mat...even the ones that claimed to be "green" or "natural." Download the "Think Dirty" app and scan your cleaners. Then ditch your toxic ones and make some safer choices!
Below is the toxin-free mat spray that I use now and I love it!
Try the following oils to spray on your mat before and after your practice:
Lavender - Relaxing
Peppermint - Invigorating
Tea Tree - Cleansing
To make your own spray you will need:
● 4 oz spray bottle (glass)
● Pinch of salt
● 1 Teaspoon of Witch Hazel
● 3-4 drops Lavender or Peppermint
● 3-4 drops Tea Tree Oil
● Fill remaining with distilled or bottled water.
You can vary what oils you use in the spray to your liking, and the amount of drops as well. Let me know how you like it or if you need help snagging these oils!
